PROMOTING RIFLE SHOOTING IN CANADA
Our mission is to promote and support the pursuit of excellence in military and civilian marksmanship as a positive and significant contribution to Canada, to the sport of shooting and to the safe handling of firearms.
Project Mapleseed is an apolitical rifle marksmanship training program that focuses on teaching traditional rifle marksmanship from standing, sitting/kneeling, and prone positions in a one day shooting clinic termed a "Mapleseed". Project Mapleseed is open to shooters of all ages. The minimum you need is a .22 rifle, 400 rounds of ammunition and a teachable attitude. Mapleseed is open to all calibers and sight types including scopes.
Their website includes dozens of challenging downloadable targets. All of them are fun, some can be an incredible challenge.
2024 Safari Rifle Challenge
We had 9.3mm to .505 caliber rifles shooting life size animal targets as well as a simulated Cape Buffalo charge. After the competition there were penetration tests on a wood and drywall test rig. The event was vastly entertaining for the shooters and spectators.
Project Mapleseed 2024
On 8 June a group of hardy shooters braved 6°C, rain, and a North wind to take part in the Project Mapleseed marksmanship program. We would like to thank instructor Adriel Michaud for presenting a huge amount of information in bite sized pieces. Every attendee was very happy to have participated and was impressed with how much their shooting had improved.
Black Powder Round Ball Shoot 2023
Traditional cloth patched lead round balls, black powder, percussion caps and flint. The frontloaders filled the air with fogbanks of smoke.
