Hopefully the courts deal with this as harshly as it deserves.
Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement

On May 13, Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services concluded a two-year undercover investigation targeting repeat offenders involved in the illegal trafficking of fish in the Faust area near Lesser Slave Lake.
Despite facing charges from a previous fish trafficking case, an individual continued to illegally kill, sell, and waste fish— before the initial court proceedings concluded.
New charges laid (under Section 9(4)(a) of the General Fisheries [Alberta] Regulation):
-Lee Roy Andrews of Faust – 3 counts related to the unlawful sale and possession of fish.
-Loreen Virginia Houle of Wabasca – 1 count related to the unlawful possession and sale of fish
During the course of the investigation, an estimated 2,200 lbs of game fish—including walleye, northern pike, and lake whitefish—were illegally harvested and trafficked from Lesser Slave Lake.
At the time of the arrest, officers seized the truck utilized in all three transactions. Additionally, a boat and two gill nets (with caught fish) were also seized.
All seized fish will be distributed to Albertans in need.
The illegal trade of fish and wildlife fuels black market demand, encouraging further poaching and putting pressure on vulnerable fish populations. Trafficking fish is a serious offence in Alberta, carrying maximum penalties of $100,000 and up to one year in jail per count.
If you suspect wildlife or fishery violations, call the 24-hour Report A Poacher line at 1-800-642-3800. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.

I stopped by this morning. This sale is huge. They're not kidding at all. Weatherby Element regular $1000 for $650. A Remington down from $900 to $525. Many others in the same range. Ammunition, cleaning supplies, etc., all for very good prices.

We have just received this from the family of the missing hunter from Ft. St. John. I know some of you head out that way, or have family in the area. Please share this as widely as you can.
Hello,
My name is Rosalie and I am the older sister of Jim Barnes, the missing Hunter from Fort St. John.
At this time, we have yet to find Jimmy despite efforts. I understand that there will be quite a bit of activity in the hunting community over the next few days and I am reaching out to community organizations like yours to help spread awareness and broaden our search.
I've attached a poster reviewed by both my sister and I. Your support in spreading awareness via your organization's social media or other channels would mean a great deal to us during this difficult time.

On behalf of the executive we would like to say thank you to the member who taped this to the clubhouse door. Knowing that the members enjoy what we're all building together as a club makes volunteering worthwhile. We would in particular note that Steve deserves a huge amount of the credit for the quality of the experience that we have at the range. He keeps everything running smoothly for us all. For the nicely mowed grass to the new AR500 gongs at 100m to make us all feel better about ourselves when we're having a rough day, and all of the little behind the scenes things, thanks Steve!
-Jason

The Club is going to be supplying both lunch and dinner on the Saturday of the event!
Lunch is carne asada tacos and Mexican street corn.
Supper is steak with baked potato, BBQ beans, and a salad! (Equal amounts of salad and red meat cancel each other out, right?)
We're also going to have fancy iced tea and lemonade all day. They may have actually been real tea and lemons!
If you can't (or aren't supposed to) eat beef or have any other dietary restrictions please let me know through the contact form and I'll see what we can do to accommodate you.

Many of us are members of several Canadian gun rights organizations and although we are aligned with the NFA we feel that every voice that is raised against gun control schemes is a good thing. We have been approached by the CCFR to promote their Annual General Meeting with an incentive for members who purchase their tickets through the link they have given us. I'll let the CCFR do the talking:
The CCFR Annual General Meeting & Fundraising Dinner with Special Guest Jim Shockey
The 2024 CCFR AGM will be held on May 25, 2024 in beautiful Calgary, Alberta at the Sheraton Cavalier Calgary Hotel in the Sheraton Ballroom.
There are two parts to the AGM; the business meeting and the fundraising auction dinner. All CCFR members are welcome to join the business meeting free of charge, whether in person or online but you MUST be a CCFR member in good standing. The meeting will begin at 10am Mountain Time (noon EST) and last for about an hour. The fundraising auction dinner will open the doors at 3:30pm onsite and the auction will be available online for those bidding from home.
The Meeting: you can expect departmental updates, financial and legal updates and the announcement of your Board of Directors. This is a Members Only event. If you’re attending in person, make your way to the Sheraton Ballroom on the first floor of the hotel. If you’re watching online, use the link provided to you via email.
The Dinner: this year we are trying a new format, linking a gourmet dinner, Keynote Speaker Jim Shockey, and fundraising auctions (silent and live). You do not need to be a CCFR member to attend, but it is appreciated. You can sign up on-site.

We've added number ten in the how to shotgun series to the Trapshooting page. This one is on methods of lead. I'm a big fan of this series, it really gives you the basics of shotgunning, and the reasons why you're doing what you're doing.

The Government has recognized that the October 2023 deadline for the "assault-style" firearm buyback program and amnesty was impossible to meet. They have just announced an extension to October 30 2025. Coincidentally enough, just after the next election..

We've added another TFL video to the Trapshooting page, this one is on patterning your shotgun. It's something you should do, I was shocked how poorly some very expensive ammunition patterned in my personal gun.
How about some feedback? Would a patterning board and a day where everyone can come out and pattern their shotgun just before waterfowl season starts be something you'd be interested in?
